By the Star as it descends, your Companion has not strayed nor has he been led astray, nor does he speak from his own whims. What he delivers to you is nothing but divine revelation, inspired by the Almighty. This revelation is imparted by one of immense power. (Surah An-Najm, Verses 1-5)
Infinite praise belongs to Allah, who fashioned humanity from soil. He is the One who, from that same soil, brought forth rocks capable of grinding it. He is Allah, who created iron, a force that shatters rocks. He is Allah, who fashioned fire, which melts iron, and Allah, who created water, which quenches the fire. He is Allah, who designed the air to bear immense quantities of water as clouds and who descends rain to revive barren soil and bring it to life.
Tibb-e-Nabawi stands as a divine medical system bestowed upon the Prophet Muhammad (صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ) through Wahee (revelation). It serves as an unparalleled cure for both the healer and the afflicted, addressing the needs of the sick and the healthy alike.
The purpose of this platform is to assert that Tibb-e-Nabawi constitutes a comprehensive framework for health, encompassing both the purification of the heart (soul) and the preservation of physical vitality. Despite its profound wisdom, this sacred medicine has been neglected for centuries, leading to its diminished recognition. In contrast, systems like acupuncture, Unani, Ayurveda, herbal medicine, homeopathy, and naturopathy continue to find global adherents, while Tibb-e-Nabawi is rarely prioritized as the primary path to healing.
Many scholars have written about Tibb-e-Nabawi, yet the work of Ibn Al-Qayyim Al-Jawziyyah stands as the most comprehensive and profound. A luminous marvel of Allah’s creation, Ibn Al-Qayyim’s life of just 60 years bore the wisdom and depth of a millennium. His unparalleled precision in the sciences of Islam and medicine is immortalized in his pioneering work on Tibb-e-Nabawi, where he illuminates the essence of healing. Ibn Al-Qayyim emphasized diagnosing and curing the heart and soul before addressing physical ailments, reflecting the true essence of Islamic healing. He wrote:
"There exists an intrinsic and significant connection between the soul and the afflictions endured by the body through physical ailments. Only those deeply entrenched in ignorance can deny the soul's profound influence upon the body and human nature as a whole. Allah, in His infinite wisdom, bestows upon the soul distinct powers that exert influence over the body during episodes of disease and affliction. Moreover, the soul demonstrates unique effects on the body when it encounters ailments stemming from toxic substances, particularly when blood, semen, or black bile is provoked and disturbed. In such a case, eveil forces tend to gain control over the body, unless one confronts these forces with a superior and more formidable power, such as invoking the remembrance of Allah, earnestly supplicating to Him, seeking His Help and Mercy, engaging in acts of charity (Sadaqah), and reciting the Quran with sincerity. Under such conditions, angels descend to counteract and nullify the detrimental effects of these devilish forces and malignant influences. Through extensive experience, tested on countless occasions known only to Allah, we have witnessed the extraordinary efficacy of these positive forces (good souls) in fortifying one’s resolve and purging harmful elements from the body and spirit. This divinely aligned method, imbued with spiritual might, seldom fails in its effectiveness."
Disease was Created by Allah & CURE is also Provided by Allah, But how does one navigate the cycle of DMC (Disease ~ Medicine ~ Cure)? Through illness, Allah grants an opportunity for a believer to lighten the weight of his sins. Moreover, Allah expects a Muslim to adhere to the true principles of Shifa (healing), which are designed to deepen and fortify one’s faith in his Lord. This DMC cycle serves to forge a profound bond between the believer and Ar-Rahman (The Most Merciful), between the servant and his Master, between Allah as Al-Mo’min (The Giver of Faith and Security) and the Muslim as a Mo’min (a faithful believer). Outlined below are the essential principles of Shifa—true healing—that address the needs of both the heart (soul) and the body:
1. Healing by Belief (Yaqeen) that Allah Has Sent the disease & Allah is the HEALER, & if the healing is delayed, it is by Allah's Wisdom & Hikmah
2. Healing by Aa'maal-e-Saalehaat, Salaat, Sadaqah, Fast, Quran, Zikr, Duaas & Ruqya, Husn-e-Khulq, abstaining from sins, Istighfaar, etc.
3. Healing by the foods of Prophet Muhammad Sallallaho Alaihe Wasallam
4. Healing by the herbs of Prophet Muhammad Sallallaho Alaihe Wasallam
5. Healing by HIJAMAH; which is Sunnah & the best kind of treatment in this world
When all of the above tools are combined together, it is very difficult for any sickness / ailment to withstand the crushing power of Tibb-e-Nabawi.
We have classified the contents of Tibb-e-Nabawi in these 5 categories, & many articles on this website are translated (word by word translation) from the book in Arabic; written by Ibn Al Qayyim, which is "Zaad al Ma'aad~زاد المعاد"
The most beautiful words written by Shaikh Ibn al-Qayyim are as under :
The Prophet’s (صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ) method of healing is not like the methods of physicians. His medicine is certain, definitive, and divinely inspired, emanating from revelation, the light of prophethood, and the perfection of intellect. In contrast, the medicine of others is largely based on conjecture, assumptions, and experiments. It is not surprising that many patients may not benefit from the medicine of the Prophet صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ because its benefit depends on how it is received—with acceptance, a firm belief in its healing power, and complete faith and submission. For example, the Qur'an, which is a cure for what is in the hearts, does not bring healing unless it is approached with such acceptance. Instead, it may increase the hypocrisy and disease in the hearts of those who reject it. If this is the case with the Qur'an, which heals spiritual diseases, then where does the medicine of the body stand in comparison?
The medicine of the Prophet صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ~ Tibb-e-Nabawi is suited only for pure bodies, just as the healing of the Qur'an is suited only for pure souls and living hearts. People turning away from the medicine of the Prophet صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ is like their turning away from seeking healing through the Qur'an, which is the most effective cure. This is not due to any deficiency in the remedy but because of the corruption and impurity of the recipient's nature, the decay of their condition, and their failure to embrace it. And Allah is the source of success.
The connection between scientific medicine and Tibb-e-Nabawi (Prophetic medicine) parallels the relationship between human reasoning in science and the divine revelations granted to Prophets. There are scientific phenomena and therapeutic interventions that elude the comprehension of even the most advanced scientists and skilled physicians. Despite the leaps in science and technology, many enigmas persist unresolved in this modern era. The profound comfort and efficacy of spiritual healing derive exclusively from unwavering faith and reliance upon Allah. Such outcomes manifest through acts of benevolence, heartfelt prayers, sincere repentance, and earnestly seeking Allah’s forgiveness. These spiritual remedies are further fortified by righteous actions, aiding the destitute, and alleviating the suffering of the distressed. The origins of these cures are intricate and transcend rational analysis, producing results that defy the methodologies of scientific inquiry. All of this aligns seamlessly with the divine laws established by Allah, beyond which nothing can exist.
When a person’s heart aligns with the will of the Lord of the Two Worlds, The Lord of the Two Easts & The Lord of the Two Wests, placing trust in the Creator of every ailment and its corresponding cure, treatments that might otherwise be ineffective in a skeptical or indifferent soul acquire profound efficacy. It is a reality, evidenced by experience, that deep faith amplifies the resilience of both JASAD (body) and ROOH (spirit), harmonizing a patient's efforts to combat and surmount afflictions. This undeniable truth can only be rejected by those entrenched in the depths of ignorance.
